Being a part of Alexis Scheer's Our Dear Dead Drug Lord was a life-changing event that fueled my passion for strong, uncompromising storytelling. The play delves into the rawness of girlhood, its wrath, compassion, humor, and unapologetic nature, without ever softening its edges. Playing Zoom, an impetuous and humorous character who alternates between arrogance and vulnerability, allowed me to explore a young lady who transitions through several stages of self-discovery. The piece does not hold back in its examination of violence, friendship, and grief, requiring a level of emotional honesty that challenged me as an actor. Working on this play confirmed my love for stories that emphasize young women's voices and address difficult issues with courage and understanding.
